Orthotics and Biomechanics

Prescription Langer orthotics are available here at Newbridge physiotherapy. The process involves an examination by the physiotherapist to asses where foot and ankle problems are. The type of device required and frequency of use of orthotic device is factored into the decision to choose a particular Langer orthotic insoles.

The initial process of examination and casting can take up to 45 minutes

The casts of the feet are packaged to the Langer laboratory in the UK where the orhtotics are made.

Frequent discussion between assessors in the lab and the physiotherapist is common.

The orthotic devices are returned to Newbridge physiotherapy approximately 3 weeks later when the patients is fitted with new orthotic insoles.

Any adjustments or modifications are possible when required.
